A surprise visitor showed up at the briefing podium today -- Allison Janney, who played press secretary C.J. Cregg on "The West Wing" and now stars in the show "Mom." She was here on Correspondents' Dinner weekend to call attention to the need for more action on the opioid epidemic.
She joked that, because it's Friday, she would be performing "the Jackal" back in her office at 5:30 p.m.
Josh Earnest came out with mock surprise and told her, "This is not your show anymore."
Mark Knoller asked her who President Bartlet is supporting for the Democratic nomination.
"I think you know the answer to that," she said.
As she departed, Josh said, "The fun stuff is out of the way now."
